I am shaped by my past, grounded in my present, and inspired by my future.
I am an educator, scholar, entrepreneur, leader, faith-driven woman, daughter, sister, friend, and future wife.
All of my experiences and relationships shape how I live, lead, and serve.
Hi, I’m sHAFT!
I am an educational leader, instructional coach, and lifelong learner committed to helping educators and systems create the conditions for sustainable improvement. My professional journey spans classroom instruction, higher education, curriculum development, instructional coaching, and statewide educational support.
I am currently working on my Master of Business Administration from Peace Multicultural University. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Master of Arts in Teaching and School Administration Licensure from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Education Specialist and Doctor of Education degrees in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. These experiences have shaped my belief that meaningful improvement occurs when people, practices, and systems are intentionally aligned around a shared purpose.
My leadership approach is grounded in building capacity, strengthening instructional practice, and creating systems that lead to improved outcomes for every student.
UNDERSTAND IT
It all begins with listening to learn the district I am serving. Who do they believe they are? What truths do they hold? How have they been inspired or hurt? Maybe they believe that they are doing well and do not truly need assistance. Maybe they have had a negative experience with outside consultants and are leery to let down their guard. Or maybe they are afraid to say what they know or what they don’t know. Whatever it is, the information you gather from a districts story makes all the difference.
Dream it
I help districts reenvision what true learning looks like. When they have forgotten the passions that first led them to our profession, I help them recapture that dream. I help them understand the importance of saving lives, reposition themselves with purpose, and recognize the difference they can make in the life of a child. I help districts rewrite their story, the way they always intended, with children at the heart of every decision, every system, and every possibility
Build it
An idea is an idea until your vision is clear. Sometimes we know what we want but have no idea how to bring our dreams to fruition. I help districts find the beauty in their story, discover how to make it come to life, and make sure that it continues to evolve year after year. My goal is to help districts develop systems and procedures that engage students in authentic learning and bring their vision to life in ways that are meaningful, sustainable, and centered on students.
